So today I received my free Senseo machine. A few months ago I took this survey to see if I qualified for a free machine. I hadn’t heard anything for a while and figured I was rejected but then about a week ago I got a “reminder” email saying that I just needed to fill in my address info and pay the $15 shipping and handling fee to get my free machine. Excitement ensued. This is what I got:41jb57284yl_ss400_.jpg It came with a free canister to store coffee pods, a bag of medium roast coffee pods, and some $20 off coupons for friends. The only disappointment I’ve come across is that they don’t offer hot chocolate pods yet. As someone who doesn’t ever drink straight coffee, I assumed that the Senseo was like the Tassimo single cup system that I got my Dad for xmas a few years ago. He loves his, it has Tazo tea and Starbucks pods as options in addition to hot chocolate. Both systems has coffee pods/tea pods/etc. available at Target, Jewel and I’m pretty sure the Dominicks. If anyone is interested in the Senseo and wants to give the survey a try, click here. If you aren’t lucky enough to qualify and you still want one, let me know, I have a bunch of these $20 off coupons.I’m also amazed to see what a community single-serve coffee machines have on the internet. There are blogs, companies that make their own pods that are compatible with different systems, etc. I guess it’s not that amazing, just unexpected.

It is a rare moment in which I don’t see Pat Buchanan speaking and think one of the following three things (and if I’m not thinking one of these three things it’s probably because I’m doing something more important like feeding my dogs or watching paint dry):

1) Why does MSNBC love Pat Buchanan and let him on every single one of their shows? (I mean his sister is an adviser on the Clinton campaign, isn’t that a conflict of interest when you’re trying to run a news bureau?)

2) Why does anyone listen to this guy?

3) Pat Buchanan is an ass hat

Now, I’ve been making a conscious effort to try and not use expletives on this blog (mostly because I don’t want any potential employers who stumble upon this site to disqualify me for employment because of my excessive use of “ass” or “shit,” etc. If they don’t hire me because of my political views then I don’t want the job anyway, especially since I know not to mix politics/religion with co-workers/bosses), but when it comes to Pat Buchanan I can’t think of a single synonym that doesn’t involve some sort of swear word.
